MEMOPETID:

ALL YOUR DOG'S DATA WITHIN THE REACH OF YOUR SMARTPHONE

In an ever-changing world, increasingly pushed to technological progress, MyFamily has decided to create a new product, capable of making the life of pet lovers all over the world easier. This is how memopet was born, a line of innovative and smart products, capable to interact with people through the app memopetID, easily manageable from your smartphone.

Memopet is designed to give those who own pets more help in taking care of them and ensure safety anytime.

Imagine the potential of hi-tech collars, harnesses and leashes that can become a complete, up-to-date, and always accessible digital database. Now this is possible thanks to the combination of these products with technology.
We have encased an NFC chip into every collar, harness and leash, making the memopet accessories capable to connect with the App MemopetID simply by approaching them to the chip inside the buckle.

With the App MemopetID you can create a complete and up-to-date profile of your pet, so you can always have a digital database with:

- Your profile and your 4-legged friend’s one
- Health and biographical data
- Passport and microchip
- Medical record
- Nutrition, allergies, therapies
- Agenda and reminder so you don't miss appointments, treatments, vaccines
- Summary and monitoring of your walks together (in combination with the leash)

THE APP THAT HELPS US PROTECT THE SAFETY AND HEALTH OF OUR 4-LEGGED FRIENDS

Let's see in detail how the App MemopetID works:

The App is available on  Apple Store  and Google Play Store, and it is the new and improved version of the old Memo Pet Identity (the first version of the App dedicated to our pets and born from MyFamily). In addition, those who have a profile on the old version of the app have the possibility to recover all the data previously entered by registering themselves with the same e-mail.

MemopetID is completely free and can also be used by those who do not own any memopet accessory, although some features will be limited. For example, some (more specific) fields cannot be filled out because they are activated by associating a memopet collar, leash, or harness.

How to download the App and how to use it:

- Log in the Apple Store if you have an iOS operating system or the Google Play Store if you have Android.
- Type memopetID in the search bar and download the app.
- Register and complete your own and your dog's profile. Now you can enter all his most important data and have a complete database plus agenda and reminder available on the app.
- To fully exploit the potential of the app memopetID, purchase a memopet leash, collar or harness so you can complete his profile and benefit from the features of the leash.
- Proceed with the registration of the accessory you purchased, and then pair the collar, leash or harness with your dog.
- His data (entered in the app) will always be accessible by approaching your phone to the NFC chip inside the collar or harness.
- By tapping on the leash instead, the "activity" function activates and records the walks or physical activity carried out together.

MEMOPETID: A HELP FOR YOU, HEALTH AND SAFETY FOR YOUR DOG

Thanks to memopetID and the line of memopet collars and leashes, you will always have the medical record with you, even when you are in a hurry and you forget it when going to the vet.
Even allergies, nutrition, and therapies are under control, so if you were to entrust your dog to someone, he would know exactly what to do: he just needs to approach his phone to the NFC chip to know everything about your dog.

You can also share your account with your family members using the same login credentials, so that each family member can edit and interact with your pet’s profile, and also update the info concerning walks and appointments.

All his data always with him, accessible at any time!

The App MemopetID was designed together with memopet collars, harnesses and leashes to be a useful tool, which in a fast, simple and innovative way, helps us to protect the safety of our dogs; because after all... what really matters is always making him feel loved, cherished and protected.

Adopt a dog: 5 questions to understand if you are ready

Are you ready to adopt a dog? If you have asked yourself this question and you are looking online for advice and suggestions to find out if the right time has come to bring home a 4-legged friend, surely you have also wondered what your new dog needs.

Among the first things to consider when deciding to adopt a dog are the physical and sometimes emotional commitment that having a dog entails (especially if it is the first). It will take love, discipline, time, but also a good deal of patience to accept all the changes that will come in your life.

It will take love, discipline, time, but also a good deal of patience to accept all the changes that will come in your life. Regardless of the type of dog you choose, from the most dynamic to the laziest, from the most playful to the most serious, you will have to give him a full life of attention that will make you happy toghether!

Here are the questions  to understand if you are really ready to take a dog!

How many time do you spend with your dog?

One of the most important things is dedicate time to your new 4-legged friend. We often spend the day way from home, and also forces the dog to many hours of solitude. These empty hours can be remedied by allowing him to perform regular physical activity such as walks or runs in the fields... when possible. It is well known that for the psychophysical health of the dog it is good to take it for a walk several times a day (at least three). Remember that you are always away from home, and he is waiting at home eager to spend this special moment with you!

Can you cover all the expenses for the dog?

Yes, having a dog also costs money! If you think that having a dog is not a cost, you are going to be warned because you will have to put your hand in your wallet very often, especially for veterinary expenses. The dog also needs good nutrition, which may not always be "cheap". We would like to promise though that if you have the chance, adopting a dog will be the best investment of your life!

Do you have patience and perseverance to educate your dog?

Having a pet is definitely a balm for the soul, , but often you will have to take a deep breath and be patient. If you are walking and he lingers for a long time to sniff a specific point, do not get nervous... to smell is his way of exploring the world. When you want to cuddle him but he will be reluctant to approach... Don’t force him to be cuddled, when the time is right he will give himself to full.

I mean... you’re gonna have to learn about his times and needs, like he’s gonna best suit you.

What is your lifestyle?

Each master has an ideal dog. Our 4-legged friends, in fact, have very specific characteristics, both for character and for size... smaller, doesn’t necessarily mean easier!
The advice is to choose the dog based on your lifestyle, space and time to devote. Consider how lazy you are, how dynamic you are, whether you have children, whether you live in a very small apartment, or whether you have a garden, whether you are out 12 hours a day, or whether you have a lot of time to spend with him.

What kind of dog do you want adopt?

When you decide to take a dog you must also think about what kind of dog you want to take, and the experience in this case can be a determining factor. It's not recommended for those who have never had a dog, approach strong and stubborn breeds, or dogs from the difficult past. Consider what kind of dog is best for you, so you don’t make mistakes that may prove difficult to correct.

Now that you have these answers it will be easier for you to understand if you are ready to adopt a dog. If the answer is yes...  you can start the adventure!

WHAT SHOULD I PUT ON MY PET’S ID TAG?

In this article you will find out what information to have on an ID tag to increase the odds of your pet’s safe return in case they are ever lost.

Today, the importance of having an identification tag on a pet is not obvious to everyone. Luckily, in many countries (for example: The United Kingdom, Canada and Australia) it is mandatory by law that once a dog is registered, in addition to a microchip, they must wear a visible ID tag with the owners contact information.

It is important to clarify that there is a difference between a microchip and an identification tag, as they are two different, but very important identification methods that should coexist and be used together.

WHY YOUR PET NEEDS AN ID TAG?

Some people are of the opinion that if their pet is microchipped, they do not need an ID tag. This is incorrect, and pets should always have visible identification on their collar.

Unfortunately, there is a chance your dog will get lost at least once during their lifetime. And even though technology has increased the odds of them being reunited with their owner, outfitting your dog or cat with an ID tag is the easiest and cheapest way to prevent them from being lost forever.

Wearing identification also makes your pet more approachable to strangers. It indicates they are not a stray, which may spur someone to take protective action.

WHAT SHOULD I WRITE ON MY ID TAG?

Losing a pet is one of the most stressful things you can go through and while most pet parents do everything they can to keep their furry friends safe, accidents do happen. Unfortunately, these issues are far more common than most people think, and millions of dogs and cats find themselves lost each year. Therefore, providing them with an ID tag, engraved with current personal contact information, is essential.

  • Current Phone Number(s)
Phone numbers are the most important thing that should be included on an ID Tag. This includes both home and cell phone as most often, this is the first thing people will try when they find a lost pet.
  • Your Pet’s Name
Including their name on the tag can help during the rescue process. Chances are your lost pet is scared and confused about their new surroundings. Depending on their temperament, they may not feel comfortable with a stranger handling them. However, if they are called by name, it could make them comfortable enough to follow.
  • Home Address
Depending on the type and size of the tag, it might be possible to include your home address.  This is helpful if the pet is found close to home, but it is not considered essential data since most people that find a pet will call first.

HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT TAG?

There are so many styles, shapes and finishes that choosing one can be challenging.  When deciding on an ID tag there are things to consider:

  • Size:  picking the right size of tag for your pet is important, especially for smaller dogs and cats, since larger tags can hang to low and be bothersome.
  • Function: depending on the amount of information you want to put on a tag could determine the type you need.  If you want to add multiple phone numbers, a name and an address, then picking a tag that is capable of being engraved on both sides, like the Basic collections from MyFamily, might be best.
  • Features:   If silence and durability are what you like then HusTags by MyFamily are perfect since they have a metal core with an infused rubber boarder that protects the finish and engraved information, while preventing the “jingling” sound that traditional tags make.
  • Style:  Your pet has a unique personality that will surely be captured by one of MyFamily’s more than 600 designs.  Ranging from the Friends collection, which are representative of the most familiar dog breeds, to the luxurious Glam, embellished with real Swarovski crystals, there is something for every dog or cat.

All MyFamily tags come with free engraving and with so many options available, there is no reason for not having a personalize ID tag on your pets collar. This simple purchase will keep your pet safe while giving you peace of mind.
